WHAT WE DO
Losing a pet is a very emotional time and if your pet is ill or nearing the end of its life, you are welcome to contact Bill and the team in advance so that, when the time comes, they have all the information they need allowing them to handle the proceedings sympathetically, easily and quickly. This allows you as the owner time to grieve without having to discuss the details of the horse or pet cremation.
We frequently get asked what pets we cremate and the answer is, all and every pet that matters to you. Hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, dogs, cats, horses - in fact we were even asked to cremate Colchester Zoo’s much loved rhino - Flossy! Every animal is as equally important to us as it is to you.
We guarantee a responsive service and will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. Out of hours, your call will be dealt with by Bill or one of his team. You can choose to drop your pet with us at the farm or we can arrange a collection. A nationwide collection service is available whether it is from your home or local veterinary surgery. Horses and ponies can be collected in a specially adapted trailer. Bill travels all over the country to give owners a complete and dedicated service. The ashes are returned after cremation in an urn of your choosing should you so wish. You can choose an oak casket with a brass nameplate or, alternatively, they can be returned in a tasteful, biodegradable scatter box for you to scatter the ashes in a treasured place. In addition, you will receive a certificate of cremation with your pet’s name and the date and a packet of memorial forget-me-not seeds to scatter where you will.
We welcome everybody to the Lake of Remembrance where you can sit and reflect. It is a peaceful and beautiful location with abundant wildlife and far reaching rural views. It makes an ideal spot to scatter your pet’s ashes if you so wish or just to sit and reminisce whenever the need arises. You are welcome at any time.
The office is manned from 8am - 5pm however, we are never far away and can be contacted out of hours. If possible - and we realise it isn’t always - it is helpful to have 24 hours notice for a collection. The most important thing is that we are here to help you at a difficult and emotional time and so an out of hours service is possible by arrangement.
For further information on our pet and horse cremation services, please give us a call and we will be happy to talk you through the process to put your mind at rest.
